For Purpose of Remembering this Story

This I just had to write down and remember what was said.
The other night we were having dinner at my Mom's house and Tom was telling James that he cleaned Daddy's teeth. James didn't believe him and we said yes, Papa is a dentist you know that. That is what he does for his job. So then James asked Daddy what he does for his job, Craig said he sells stuff for computers. Then my Mom said, James I work too, I help people with their problems. Then James asked what Marie (Tom's Mom) does. I said she is retired, she doesn't have a job anymore. So then my Mom asked James, what is Mommy's job? James said EVERYTHING!
Ahhh, so true, I am glad somebody notices!

Last Disney Day for Summer

Yesterday was the last day we could go to Disneyland for the summer with our annual passes. We were a little hesitant to go because of the crowd and schools already being out for summer. We were glad we did though! The lines weren't THAT horrible since we don't go on any of the MAJOR rides! First we hit up the Autopia, we can't miss that ride!
James driving, he said his car was crazy! LOL!

Jake peeking out the car!

Then we headed over t0 California Adventure where we went on the swinging ferris wheel. This was Jake and Daddy's first time! We swung a lot more this time and Jake didn't know what to think of it! Craig took a video of us and it is so funny. Jake didn't think it was fun until the last time we were swinging. James on the other hand thought it was hilarious, one time he got a little nervous look on his face!

After the ferris wheel James and I went on Toy Story Midway Mania. That was the first time James wanted to go on that. Like I said before, he is getting braver! I am SO happy! It was a fun little ride, we will definitely be doing that one again!
Making a plan...

Here is a video of our whole night. It is a little long but you have to see the swinging ferris wheel! And no, something is not wrong with the video when it first starts play, Craig did the video with an old fashion flare!

We will miss you Disneyland! We can't wait till August when we can use our passes again!

Last Day of Pre-School!

Another bittersweet moment yesterday! James had his last day of school! I can't believe he has gone through one year of school already! Now the years are going to go faster and faster!
They had a family picnic at school and the kids had so much fun. The parents on the other hand were ready to get out of there! Imagine 100 or so little 3 and 4 year olds running around! CRAZY!

I am sure James will be sad when he realizes he doesn't get to see his friends every week! Hopefully we will see them over the summer!

Last Day of Swim Lessons :(

Yesterday was the last day for swim lessons. It was bittersweet for me. The boys did so well and progressed so much but I was sad it was over.

They were having so much fun and enjoying themselves so much! I couldn't believe the transformation in Jake. On the last day he was crying to GO to swim.

We created a monster, as Tom would say! Jake is going to be a handful in the water. He loves to swim and he won't sit still! He doesn't even care if you are paying attention or not, he just goes when he wants to! Makes me a little nervous!

He said the boys are done with swim lessons, I told him I might come back next year just for a visit! He is a tough old man but I am going to miss him!

1st Trip to the Dentist!

Two weeks ago James had his first trip to the dentist. Although Papa is a dentist I thought it might be better that we take James to someone he doesn't know and a pediatric dentist that deal with kids all the time. I took him to the pediatric dentist I went to until I was 18! When they told me that they take James back by himself I was a little nervous, but they assured me that it was best and I figure they know best, they are the professionals! Well when it was time for James to go back and he found out I wasn't coming the tears started flowing! He cried for a few minutes and then I didn't hear him anymore. Soon I heard him talking about Cars and thought to myself, wow he is doing great! !0 minutes later they call me back and take me to his room, he is sitting on the bench and they tell me he won't open his mouth!! They had done nothing! He would not sit in the chair, so they put him on my lap, leaned him back and as soon as he saw the mirror coming towards his mouth he freaked out! The Dentist then showed him it was just a mirror and James looked into it. He finally opened his mouth so the Dentist could "count" his teeth! He told me they looked good and that we would schedule another appointment to clean his teeth in a couple weeks. He didn't want to traumatize him!
So two weeks go by and I talked to James about going to the dentist a lot, there was no reason to be scared, he didn't do anything last time to hurt him and he was just going to brush his teeth. This time they had me come back with him! As soon as we got into the room James started to cry that he didn't like this room. I put him up on the chair and the dentist showed him the polishing tools and put it on James' finger so he knew it wouldn't hurt! James let him in his mouth and he did fantastic! He was a little squirmy with the fluoride treatment! Afterwards he was so happy to get a Cars toothbrush, stickers and pick a toy from the treasure box!
James with his clean teeth!

The last three days James has been asking me if he is going to the dentist tomorrow! He doesn't want to go back!

Brave Boy!

Last week we kept promising to take James to Disneyland. So we planned to go on Thursday after Jake woke up from his nap. Well when he woke up he woke up with a fever. Craig offered to stay home with Jake and I could take James. So James was so excited we were going to have a "date" just the two of us! :) When we got there they told us they closed early that night so we only went on two rides! Autopia of course and then James wanted to go on the ferris wheel. We went on it last time and this time he wanted to go on the swinging chair! We got on and it was just a nice gentle swing, then we went a little more, then we stopped a bit and then we swung a little more. THEN we REALLY swung! It swung so much that James fell off the seat! I thought for sure he would be scared but nope! My little boy is becoming braver! He screamed but he was giggling so much! I was so proud!!

Swim Lessons

The boys started swim lessons again this year with Tom. This is their second year with him. The first day James cried all the way there and until he got into the pool. I was reminding him of last year how he loved it and he didn't want to get out of the pool when lessons were over! He wasn't having it. He cried and screamed twice at Tom that he didn't want to put his head under and Tom told him not to scream at him and that was it. James was done. He didn't cry after that at all. It wasn't until day three that again he didn't want to get out of the pool when he was done! He is loving swim lessons and doing so well!

Jake on the other hand didn't understand where we were going so he was fine in the car. But as soon as we got into the backyard and he saw the pool and Tom he started crying.

He only cried though when he was holding onto the wall or sitting on the step. If Tom was holding him he was fine! Holding on for dear life...

He did very well swimming

And by the third day he stopped crying after about 10 minutes and decided he liked the pool!
Splish Splashing!

Friday Jake didn't go to swim because he had a fever but Craig took James and said he is improving way more! I can't wait to see how they do next week!

Here is a little video of them swimming
