My Boys!

Yesterday Jake had his 2 week check-up. Everything is going well. Funny thing was that he weighed 9lbs 9oz. That is how much James weighed at birth!

Today I asked James if he wanted to hold Jake. We haven't attempted this yet. He said yes so I told him to get up on the couch and sit there nicely. He did so I placed Jake right up against him and James just sat there so sweet with his arm around him!

He held and played with his hand the whole time! Awe! He was so good with him! When I went to move Jake, James didn't want me to!

Now I think it is official, James was in Jake's face talking to him and Jake smiled a few times so big!

Brother Love!

James is doing really well with Jake. The only problem we are having is trying to teach James that he can't smother him! He is always trying to kiss him, hug him, or touch him but he just does it a little too hard! Here is actually being gentle with him!

Is This a 1st Smile???

James got out the camera and said cheese, so I quickly grabbed it from him and asked him if he wanted me to take his picture. He said, "O-tay". So this is what he did...

Laid on the floor and covered his face!

I am glad he did that because then I went over to Jake and took these! Some people think he has already has his first smile! I say there is no way...it is just gas!! He has smiled with his eyes open but these are the only ones I have been able to capture! He must be having sweet dreams! Also today Jake was a week old!!!

Here are just some pictures of Jake sleeping, what he does most of the time!

And James using Jake's bouncer as a parking garage!

Jake's 1st Bath

Here are some pictures from Jake's first bath! He did pretty well considering every time I change his diaper he screams!

Then he lost it!

Getting his hair washed!

Aah...all done!

We also had James in the bath at the same time to occupy him, since he LOVES playing in the tub!

James' New Backpack

When the baby was to be born I thought it would be nice to give James a present from the baby! So I got him this Cars backpack and was going to get some cars to go in it! Well I never got around to getting the cars but I think the backpack was enough! He loves it! When he puts it on he says "Ya ya". That is what he calls Brianna. He knows she has a backpack too and he is just like her with his backpack on!

Watching tv with it on

Riding his bike with it on

Playing with it on

James & Jake

We think James and Jake look so much alike! Here is a little comparison. People don't believe me because seeing Jake and James now they look nothing alike! It is amazing how much James has changed!

They even look alike when they cry!

Valentine's Day Surprise!!!

From my last post you all know that we had a wonderful Valentine's Day surprise!! Our little boy, Jake Anthony was born at 3:22 p.m. He weighed in at 8lbs. 15oz. and was 20 1/2 inches. It all started with my Dr. appt the day before. I think the membrane stripping worked! Since the appt I had contractions but nothing painful or consistent. I knew though if they kept up like they were I wouldn't make it through the weekend. Friday night I went to bed and had a good night sleep. Saturday I had a hair appt, I wanted to get in one last time before the baby was here. I also had a pedicure appt that afternoon, also wanted to get one in before the baby came! Oh well! As soon as I started to get ready to go to my hair appt I started having contractions, it was about 8:15. They were pretty strong, for about 15 minutes I felt they were coming pretty regular, so I thought maybe I should time these, I was supposed to leave in a half hour! So I timed them and they were 5 min apart. I called and canceled my hair appt! Didn't want to get stuck there! So for the next hour and a half they were consistently 5 min apart and getting stronger. We didn't have ANYTHING ready! I knew this was going to happen because Craig had planned to do everything that day. So as I am in labor I am getting my stuff together and installing the car seat and Craig is taking a shower and getting James ready and the house picked up. He called his Mom who was coming to stay with James and as soon as she got there we were off! We got to the hospital at 11:00, I was dilated to 4 on my way to 5 and 90% effaced! Labor and delivery went smoothly and he was here with 3 pushes 4 hrs and 20 minutes later! It probably would have been even sooner if we didn't have to wait for the Dr. to get there!!!

Moments after birth.

Getting all fixed up.

Got a little bruised on the way out! :( Since we had to wait a bit for the Dr.

James sharing ice-cream with Mommy!

Nice and peaceful!

Didn't like getting changed into his going home outfit!

Yay! Going home!

39 weeks and Waiting...

Today I am 39 weeks and 1 day. I had my appt. today and she said I am dilated to 2-3 and still 50% effaced. She said she tried to strip my membranes so hopefully that will kick things into gear. I haven't had many symptoms of labor like I did with James, but I know every one is different and it doesn't really mean anything. I was at the same place I am now when I went into labor with James. So??? I feel that this past week I have REALLY gotton bigger so that concerned me, since James was 9lbs. 9oz. She said I am measuring a little over 39 weeks but just a tad and that he really doesn't feel like a 9lb. baby. I guess we will see if they are wrong again! So now we play the waiting game! My next appt. is on my due date, Feb. 19th. Hopefully you will hear from me by then, and that I didn't make it to the appt!!!

Can't Turn Your Back For A Minute!!!

Today as I was giving James lunch he also wanted a lollipop. So I gave him his lunch and a lollipop at the same time. He was having some rice that he dumped all onto his tray. Meanwhile I was also baking cookies and the timer went off. So in the minute that I got up to get the cookies out of the oven he decides to throw all the rice on the floor!

Thank goodness for the dog! Although he couldn't even clean it all up. Plus as you can see it was all in the dog's hair too! I had to pick it all out!

He was enjoying his lollipop though for the second that he was able to have it!
