FIVE yr old!

And again...here I go about how I can not believe time is passing by so fast. Five years really?? I just don't believe it. How did my little 9lb. 9oz. baby turn into a five yr. old so fast? Well he is five now and weighing 48.2 lbs. and measuring 46 1/2 inches tall. He is in the 90% for weight and 95% for height. Craig and I are still shocked at how he is still so big. He must have gotten a recessive gene from both of us!
James' check up wasn't as nearly as easy as Jake's. I didn't tell James we were going to the Dr because I knew he would panic. But I also didn't want to just drive there and have him find out when we get there and freak out there. So I told him right before we left. He cried and cried and begged me not to take him. He told me he was healthy and didn't need to go. I finally talked him into going and if he was good we would get frozen yogurt after! He was fine by the time we got there. He did his eye exam and passed with flying colors. He had his ear exam and did great as well. He was cracking me up in the appointment.  He told the nurse that he wasn't going to get any blood tests today. The nurse was asking me how much he ate and what he like to eat. He told her his favorite food was sushi and spaghetti! He said he didn't like fruit at all. I hardly had to talk! I did fill in that he does eat vegetables, so she wouldn't think he doesn't eat healthy since he doesn't eat fruit! When the Doctor came in he was checking him out and James told him he wasn't going to get a blood test today. The Dr. was asking him what he liked to do for fun and he tells him, well for fun I like to go to Palm Springs! HA! So then he goes into telling him what he does in Palm Springs and how he LOVES it! Oh gosh, he was so funny! Then the Dr. asks him what he likes to do at home. Does he like to play video games...ut oh, does he like to play outside...does he like to go swimming. James says, We don't have a pool, we have a dirt track. The Dr. says, oh really wow! I am sure he is thinking we have this bmx track or something so I tell him, Oh it is just a little dirt area they play  in with their cars! So then the Dr asks him what else he likes to do, does he play sports?? He is trying to see if he gets any exercise! SO then James tells him he doesn't play sports, he plays golf. He is going to be a golfer when he gets big! The Dr. tells him maybe he can help him with his swing. So James gets down and shows him how it is done, a couple times! The Dr. tells him, oh good form! James is pretty proud and sits down! Oh gosh! This kid! He is quite the little talker! The Dr says he is doing great! The nurse came back in to give him one little finger prick, he wasn't due for any shots, thank goodness! James freaked out and squirmed so much that both the nurse and I were having trouble getting his finger! Finally she did it and he whined and whined. I was trying to distract him and talk to him, but he told me, I can't talk right now, I will talk when she is done! Awe! After the Dr. we went and got frozen yogurt! :)

On James' Birthday we were going to Disneyland so we celebrated with dinner and cake the night before.
He begged us to open his presents that night and we gave in! :)
He got two new Leapster games from Yaya and Jakey! HE was so happy!
And from Mommy and Daddy...
He got just what he asked for!
A Razor 360! With sparks!

He rode one at his cousin's house at Christmas and asked us for one for his Birthday. This one had an added feature he didn't know about. Sparks! You lift this lever and this metal rubs against the ground and it makes sparks! He LOVED that! Just like Lightening McQueen!
We went out right away to ride it! And he has been riding it every day since!
On his Birthday we headed over to Disneyland!
We did the normal favorite rides...Love that pic!
And the Rockets. We had Magic, the class pet with us!
And we did some newer rides, Small World...
A very new ride, the jelly fish ride
 James loved it!
And for the first time ever James went on his biggest ride! Soaring over California! It was his idea and he LOVED it! He is such a big boy!!!
His Birthday dessert!
Such a fun day! We are so proud of him for going on new rides!
Happy Birthday my big boy!

Jakey

Our little Jakey, I didn't write about him for his 3rd Birthday! Scrapbook purposes! We went for his check-up and he surprised us with his height of 37 3/4 inches and 35.8 lbs. That puts him in the 50% for height and 75% for weight. He was always a little short and stout! They gave him an eye test and it was so funny. He kept saying I don't know and laughing. Great! He is already being silly! But he did well enough and I couldn't believe how well he can see! I couldn't even tell what the picture was! I need glasses! He was very good for his exam and he got one little finer prick and one shot. They did the finger prick first and had to collect the blood in a straw. He was so calm, James was with me and freaking out for Jake! The nurse was also really good and animated! For the shot, Jake didn't know what was going to happen, I guess he didn't remember from last year. Not like James, who I always had to hold down with all my might! James was hiding behind me and plugging his ears! Jake cried when he got the shot but only until I picked him up. He was so tough and loved getting a band-aid.

Jake is such the baby of the family. In some ways he is so babyish and in other ways he is not. He always wants to be held. He uses the excuse that his legs don't work, he will pout and sit down. He is a good pouter. I am always calling him the drama King. He is such a sweet boy, he always wants to sit on your lap, or wants you to sit with him. He loves to cuddle. He whines all the time. I don't know how many times a day I tell him to use his words. He is speaking a lot more clearer these days though. He gets very frustrated when he can't explain himself or we can't understand him. He has a very strong temper and very stubborn. When he wants to do something himself you can not help him at all! He will throw a fit if he can't do it right. Or sometimes I have to help him and if someone else does it, another fit will come out.
Throws a great tantrum...
He is a little OCD. I think James was too at that age. I am wondering if he will grow out of his OCD tenancies. He is still a blanket kid. Craig calls it a bar rag. It is falling apart and is just a small square, the size of a rag. He has to have his blanket perfectly laid out over his pillow when he goes to bed. If you give him a kiss he has to have a hug to go with it. I love that!
He is more adventurous than James. James would never get his face painted.
 He sat on Santa's lap...
Jake will try more rides at Disneyland...
If anyone is talking about going somewhere Jake always wants to go! Even if it is not right at that moment. He says, "I want to go!" He is my little sidekick.
He wants to do EVERYTHING James does. He is his little mimic. James gets annoyed with him often, but I love that they are both getting older and they are playing with each other so much more nicely. I have longed for this time!
Not that they still don't fight over toys, but it is getting much better. Maybe because we have two of everything, no, kidding, not EVERYTHING. They do share better. Jake can really hold his own, he is a little tough guy, I think that comes with the territory of having an older Brother! Jake has started going in the co-op nursery at church and instead of calling it the nursery I call it school. He wants to go to school because James does. The first couple times he cried when I left but he is so proud of himself when we pick him up that he went to school and played with his friends!

He is doing so well with potty training. Still has accidents with poop and waits too long so he dribbles a bit in his underware. But he is doing well and soon hopefully those little accidents will be gone! He is definitely over the diaper. He doesn't even want to wear a pull up to bed! I have to sneak one on him when he is asleep, I do let him go without one a lot, but he has had a handful of accidents so I just have to gage it on his drinking at night!
He loves playing cars- or anything with wheels, riding his bike, playing outside, playing with angry birds stuffed animals...drives me crazy. Pretty much anything James thinks up or is playing Jake will follow.
His favorite color is blue or green.
He loves wearing sunglasses!
Jake is the worst eater. He is my junk food kid. All he wants is goldfish, granola bars, crackers, he hardly eats dinner most nights! He loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and mac n cheese! What kid doesn't?! He loves cotton candy! That is always his treat when we go to Disneyland!
He doesn't nap anymore. :( Sometimes he will fall asleep in the car or a lot of times he will now fall asleep no the couch before dinner. Once in awhile he will stay asleep, sometimes he will wake up and then be up till 9:30. But he will stay and play in his bed, which is nice!
Here he is, he fell asleep in the hallway!
Sleeping at night is hit and miss. Sometimes he will do great sleeping till 6:30 or sometimes he wakes up many times and comes in bed with us! Sometimes I don't even know when he crawled in bed with us! He sneaks in and I awake to a body part in my face!
I can't believe my little baby is THREE!
