Day 18

Today I did my first detox bath. With the boys being sick and Craig someone told me about taking a detox bath when they were sick and how it worked for them so well. So I had Craig do it yesterday. He felt so much better and completely believed it helped him. I thought I am going to do it, since I probably have all these germs in me and they are trying to manifest inside me. I need to get these toxins out so I don't get sick. So I tried it tonight. It was a pretty crazy experience. I really enjoyed it although I couldn't wait for the minutes to be up. I felt so relaxed afterward I felt like I just went to yoga or something. I will definitely do it again. Whether it will help with the germs we will see but it is nice to just feel like you are doing something good for your body and you are relaxed!

Day 17

Just when I get one kid back to school the other one comes down with it! Poor Jakey now has what James had. Ugh. At least I know what to expect. I am not looking forward to being home bound for the next couple days. Just when I thought I was back to normal routine.

CSF

This post deserved a post for itself!
Last week Brianna got notice that she was accepted to Cal State Fullerton!!! We were so thrilled. It was so exciting to hear. We are so proud of her and feel like school has paid off. I know she has to keep it up and finish the school year strong, but in a way I feel like it is over. Like she accomplished what she needed to do. A bittersweet moment. This process for applying to college has been so stressful for us parents. There is so much to do and there is SO much competition it is sad. Great students aren't getting into college. Only 45% of students applying get into CSF. She didn't apply to many places and we were all ok for her to heading to a junior college first. I wasn't too sure if I was ready for her to go away, so I was all for a junior college. But I guess as a parent you may never be ready. Needless to say it was early to hear acceptance and she hasn't heard from any of the others schools yet so I guess I shouldn't be so happy she is staying home, not just yet.

We just got the letter in the mail today!

Day 16

I was so happy when James woke up this morning without a fever! Phew. That was a long three and a half days. He still had a fever last night when he went to bed so I thought the right thing to do was to keep him home another day. Jake went to school so James and I had the day to ourselves. He went to run errands with me and we went to Chick-fil-let for lunch.

When we came home I got out this book I had bought for James probably when he was about two. I had the same book when I was little and I filled it out when I was about 5 years old. It is a Dr. Seuss book called All About Me. He really loved it. We sat and filled it out 32 pages for over an hour! It is so much fun! I need to go get one for Jake!

Day 15

Whoo-hoo! I am half way through my challenge! If I don't pat myself on the back!
First of all here is Jake's finished car from yesterday. It finally dried and he could decorate it! It came out so cute!
James was still sick today, so not much of going out of the house for me. Just ran to the store real quick and had plenty of time to make more cookies! I have made something like 10- 12 dozen cookies in the last two weeks! Both times Brianna's idea. It is seriously ruining my healthy eating habits. I was doing so good! The problem isn't the cookies but while I am making them I sit and eat the dough! I probably have 5 cookies in just dough! And they say eating raw cookie dough is bad for you. I haven't had the experience of that yet. Thank goodness she is taking all of them to school tomorrow!
I really hope James is better tomorrow. I am kinda having cabin fever. Although he will be staying home tomorrow again from school. :(

Day 14

Today James was sick again with a fever all day and I wanted to get Jake out of the house but he didn't want to do anything. So I decided they needed to do a craft. They were very excited about their craft.
 They painted pinewood derby cars.
 Jake was painting so carefully
And globed the whole jar of paint on his car!
Jake was done in about 2.5 seconds. So much for that being a craft to take up time!
James painted his car like Francesco from Cars.

 James painted so nicely

James' finished car!
We couldn't finish Jakes's car because it still wasn't dry!
They enjoyed themselves but next time I need to think of a longer lasting craft.

Day 13

Yesterday afternoon James came down with a fever. It was just a low grade 99.2 one. His spirits were good, I was glad it was just a little cold. Well today he has had a fever all day and the highest it got was 103.2.
It is so sad when they look so pathetic and don't feel well.
I hope he is better tomorrow.

Day 12

I am falling behind!! This post was for yesterday.
So thankful for girls nights and wine!
I really need these nights, we have so much fun and talk for hours. Don't know what I would do without them!

Day 11

After Christmas I find myself always trying to rearrange the house to fit more things. I wanted to get a lego table in the boys room since now we are really into legos. I was thinking of getting rid of the rocking chair and putting the table there. They both didn't want to get rid of it, we sit in it every night to read books. But it takes up so much room! Then I started getting sentimental and didn't want to get rid of it either! And how could I get rid of it when practically every night when we go to bed this is what we see?!?!
So we decided to get rid of the boys workbench in their room since they don't really use the workbench, they just use the tools. Maybe when Jake stops using it to fall asleep in it will be easier to get rid of! :)

Day 10

A couple weekends ago Jake had Dad and Me day at school and I forgot to post about it. Even though I have been keeping up with my blog I still forgot that! I do have a good excuse though, Craig took the pictures with his phone so I didn't have them. Well now I have them.
This is the picture Jake made of him and his Dad.
They made a boat and sailed it.
They played soccer.
  Played on the playground
 And on the swings
Jake had so much fun he wanted Daddy to come back to school the next time he went to school!

Day 9

On our day off today we didn't do much. I had big ideas of being outside in this still hot and beautiful weather but I just kept starting new things. We decided to make cookies and that took awhile.
And James busted out the legos and we played for about an hour.
James and I made this cool truck!
And Jake never is really interested in doing legos himself. He wants to do them but always wants me to do it. Today Jake was so busy all by himself making airplanes. He did so well!
 His airplane, all by himself!
And here are both his planes! So cute!

Day 8

It was such a beautiful day yesterday Craig and Jake played a bit of ball in the street.
We can't figure out which hand he is going to use!
I love that he loves to play sports.
I just signed Jake up for a multi-sport class and I can't wait to see how he does!
Today we decided to go to the park. The boys brought their nerf guns...

 We played T-ball

 And soccer

 Group hug!
It was such a great day to be outside, a nice change from the rainy cold weather!

Day 7

I skipped a day again! Ugh. I am not even very far into this challenge and I have already missed two days! Ok I am going to try really hard to remember.
It is known around my house that I do not have a green thumb. Every plant that comes into my house I can not seem to keep alive. My sweet Mother-in-law is always giving me plants that I can not keep alive for very long. This Christmas she gave me one that I had to plant myself. A couple weeks ago I was at her house and she has the same one. I was a little disappointed that her plant was way more advanced than mine. Mine hadn't even started growing! Hers was about 6 inches tall! Well now my plant has been growing and I am so proud of it. It grows a lot at one time, every morning I look at it and it has significantly grown. And now I have another plant in my house and hopefully I can keep them both alive!
And the vase next to my plant is something Brianna made in ceramics! Isn't she good!?!

Day 6

I am posting this from my phone tonight since I am already in bed and forgot about my post. well actually I didn't forget because I am doing it now, but I forgot before I got in bed and now I am too lazy to het up and do it, but I don't want to miss! So we will see how this works out. Never done it before!
We haven't been to Disneyland since before Christmas and the boys keep asking to go. So tonight we went. It was perfect weather, nice 70 degrees after all this freezing cold. But we got there really late, about 6:30. I didn't look to see what time the park closed before we went. It closed at 8. So we only had a little bit of time am we had to eat dinner!
That is what I love about having passes it doesn't matter how long you are there. And the kids don't care if they went on one ride or ten. It's just the fact that we are there that makes them happy. Until it gets late and they get cranky!
James checking out the map. I have no idea why they love the maps so much. They have to get one every time we are there and they look at them for SO long!

We kinda split up after dinner. I took jake on the jelly fish while Craig and James went on goofy's flying ride. Then Jake and I went on Toy Story and they went on Soaring over CA. It was nice to have one on one time!
On the Jelly Fish ride

Ready with our 3D glasses!
On Toy Story
Yummy Ice-Cream before we head home.

Day 5

Ugh!! I missed a day! I even thought about it and was going to do it in the morning and then got side-tracted. In the afternoon I thought about it again while I was at my Mom's. I almost used her computer to do my post and then I thought, Oh I will do it when I get home. Well looks like I forgot!
At least I remembered early this morning though! ;) I can double up today.
In my other post I said I have been crafty this week. Here is my other crafty thing I did. I bought this mirror over our fireplace at an antique store and it was all white. I loved it but it blended into our wall too much. So I decided to paint the edge of it. Here is the completed project. I am not too sure how I like it. I am not crazy about it but it does stick out more. I also recently purchased the storage cabinet next to the fireplace and hung up the kids portraits. That corner of my house has been a nightmare to decorate since we moved in 7 years ago! I finally figured out that I was trying to make the wrong piece of furniture work there. I absolutely love this cabinet! I have more storage and it opened up our house. Very happy with this purchase.
And I have another crafty project coming up!! When I finish I will post, but I haven't even started so it might be awhile!

Day 4- Snow Day

Today Jake had snow day at school! He was so excited. I was glad I got to be the room parent to come help get the kids dressed and ready to go. That way I got to see Jake have fun in the snow! I never saw James' snow day when he was at school there.
Jake was the line leader today.
SNOW!!
I forgot till we were there that this is the first time Jake has been in the snow! He was about 10 months last time we were there! Poor deprived child! I guess I didn't think about it because who hasn't been in the snow!?! Jake. :(
His first time down the "hill" on the sled!
His face didn't look to sure, but he loved it!
Craig tagged along with me! :)
Having a snowball fight with his friend.
 Loving it!
His class.
James was so bummed he doesn't have snow day at his school. When we picked Jake up he asked if we could go see the snow. I asked Jake's teacher if it was ok. She said sure. So we headed out to the snow and there were a bunch of kids out there.
James was so excited! They just slid down on their bottoms!

Going down together!
 They had a snowball fight!
 James got him good!
 Jake trying to get me!
They had so much fun. We really need to take them to the snow!! Bad parents. :(
