Crazy Weather

We have had some crazy California weather lately. It is 60 degrees on day and 80 the next. Last week we had a ton of rain and hail. I have never ever seen it hail for this long. Usually it hails for a minute and stops. This day it hailed a good half an hour at least.

See the difference of the ground, one is under the patio table.

See the car tracks in the street...

 Looks like snow!!
James trying to make a snowman! Ha!
 His tiny snowman.
So glad I was home to see it! A sight to see!

James' 6th Birthday

We celebrated James' Birthday a little bit the night before his Birthday. Instead of making a cake, because we already did that at their party, we decided to go out for frozen yogurt!
Birthday Yogurt!
After frozen yogurt we went to my Mom's so they could give James his Birthday present.
Just what he wanted...Skylanders legos!
On his Birthday he got some new Skylanders from Jake and Brianna.
I was so sick. I had had a cold for over a week and I kept thinking to myself how in the world am I going to go walk around Disneyland! I was making them lunch and my eyes were watering, my legs were hurting and I decided to take my temperature. I had a 99.7 fever. I didn't know what to do. I felt horrible and didn't want to go but felt so bad if I didn't. I talked to Craig and we told James we couldn't go because I was sick. He was balling, so sad. I popped some Advil and Craig told James he would take him. James wasn't happy still. He said Jake and I needed to go. So about a half an hour after I took the Advil I was feeling better and my fever was down. As James was crying in my lap I started crying, thinking how excited he was it was his Birthday and he had been looking forward to Disneyland and now I ruined it.  I decided I would go, I will just deal with it for a couple hours. I brought some Advil with me and thought I will just keep taking it. James was so happy. And we headed off to Disneyland.
Happy Birthday Boy!
I ended up not needing any more Advil and I think I would have felt worse if I stayed home and laid on the couch.
James making his Italian face. So silly, I don't know where he even came up with this!
James and Chase on Goofy's Flying Ride. We went on three times in a row without getting off!
James had been telling us he was going to go on bigger rides when he turned six. So before we left Craig asked him what he was going to go on now that he was six. He kinda had a meltdown and said he was just kidding and he wasn't going to go on anything. We figured.
After Goofy's ride James, out of nowhere says he wants to go on the big roller coaster! We were shocked! So we headed over and they went on!
Here they go...
James, Craig, Brianna & Chase ready for take off.
Craig freaking out and James cool and calm. LOL
James did so well and I guess kept saying on the ride, I am dying! But he is willing to go on again!
Best way to end our night. Ice-cream!
Happy Birthday my big boy!! xoxo

Staying Together

A few days ago Brianna received this letter in the mail!
We were talking about it and James heard us. He said you are going to San Francisco? I told him that she might move to San Francisco. He said she can't move there. I asked him why. He said because she can't. I told him she might go to school there. He said no. Brianna asked why James?? He said, "Because we are a family and we need to stick together." Awe!!! So sweet!!! He is such a sweet and sensitive boy and surprises us with these sweet things that come out of his mouth. Melts my heart! :)

And about her getting into school there. The day we got the letter I was freaking out. It made it so much more real that she was going to college. When she was accepted to Fullerton I was proud, relieved, and happy. If she goes to Fullerton she will be going to school just as far as she went to high school! Now that she has the opportunity to really "go away" to college it is unbelievable that she could be moving out! Now the big question is, what will she do?!?!

The Dentist

A few posts ago you saw that my kids were nervous about going to the dentist and we went with our friends to watch them. Well this time it was my kids turn. They were totally fine with going. No problems, not nervous or scared.
Jake getting his x-rays done.
 Such a big boy!
 James having his x-rays
 Ready for his cleaning.
Being so good!
Papa looking at Jake's teeth. I was very concerned with Jake's teeth. He has such deep grooves and I can not even get them clean sometimes. Also he doesn't let me brush his teeth all the time. We take turns. He does the mornings, I do the nights. So just as I suspected my poor little guy had a cavity!! I wasn't surprised but I was so sad for him! A cavity at 4 years old! I just got my first cavity last year! He must have his Dad's teeth! ;)
 Papa cleaning James' teeth!
James' teeth were great!
I took Jake back to get his filling done. Papa didn't want to give him the shot so he set it up with another dentist to do it. Well, Jake was not having it. He wouldn't even look at the other dentist! So Papa was going to have to give him the shot. He was all set to give it to him when Jake started freaking out and put his hands over his mouth. I tried to grab his hands to hold him down but that wasn't going to work. Papa didn't want to do it if Jake wasn't going to let him. So now we are going to go to a pediadontist. Ugh...so sad.

Boys Birthday Party

We had a smaller party this year for the boys Birthdays. Just the family, still about 27 people! They wanted to have an Angry Birds party AGAIN, so we decided to do Angry Birds in Space. I got quite crafty making all the decor myself.
I made this sign...
I made these containers with some golden eggs.
I made cupcakes and the angry bird cupcake toppers
 more cupcakes...
I used angry birds for the centerpiece
and decor
We got a small bounce house since there was only 6 little kids, but they didn't have angry birds so we opted for Cars. The kids had fun and it kept them busy!

Jake for some reason wanted nothing to do with blowing out his candle. So he wasn't around when we sang Happy Birthday
Andi and James

Putting together legos
Michael and Ian playing
Ava and Jade playing
James in his new jammies with Ava
They had lots of fun and were so excited about all their new toys!
The next day playing with some new toys.
Craig took James for an early Birthday present to the skate shop to pick out his own skateboard. I thought it would take him forever to decide, he is so indecisive. I guess he saw "the one" and he insisted on it right away!
Trying it out.

My boys are growing up!!

WInter Formal

A couple weeks ago Brianna went with Chase to his Winter Formal. It was in Manhattan Beach. It was the first dance I didn't get to see her with her date. :( kinda sad. Only one more formal high school dance to go!
