Fun Filled Weekend!

Wow what a busy weekend we had! I am exhausted and think I need the whole week to recover. We started our weekend Friday night at the Oktoberfest at the church. We go every year but this was the first year James went on any rides. We went with our friends Lindsay and Jeremiah and their kids. So James was really excited to go on the rides with Ayden! We had a great night and met up with a bunch of friends.
Ayden and James on the spinning apples. I was in there too!

Daddy and James on a ride. This looks like a really wimpy ride but it whips you around really fast.

Jake and Zoe waiting nicely in their strollers.

Saturday morning we got up and went to a car show at the Orange County fair grounds, Cruisin for a Cure. James got to sit in this race car! And then Daddy wanted to try! We didn't last very long there. I think James partied too much the night before. He was such a crank and we ended up leaving because he would not stop crying!

After the car show James fell asleep for 3 hours while I ran around with Brianna to soccer pictures, and a soccer game. Mind you all these things we did were outside in the 90-100 degree weather!!! Agh! Heat heat go away! That night Craig and I got to escape for a bite to eat by ourselves at the Oktoberfest! Thanks Mom! :)

Sunday after church my Mom and I went back to the Oktoberfest with the boys to finish up the tickets we had while Craig and Tom were out golfing. We only were there about an hour thank goodness. I was melting in the heat!
James on the ladybug ride. He loved this one. You really got your monies worth they went around so many times I thought he was going to puke. He had a kinda dazed look when he got off!

We ran into my friend Vic with his kids Logan and Kira, so once again James was so excited to go on the rides with them! They screamed the whole time! And they were the only ones screaming! I think they thought that is what you are supposed to do on rides!

Thank goodness my niece Andi was there to go on some rides with James!

Logan, James, Andi, and Valerie on the big slide!

We had so much fun at the Oktoberfest I can't wait till next year. Maybe there will be more rides he can go on. He wanted to go on all the big kid rides! So much different from his Sister!

Monday was my Mother-in-law's Birthday so we joined her at Disneyland!
First Nonna and James went on the carousel. A warm up for James!

Then they went on Dumbo. He loved it!

Then Nonna took him on the teacups! First time and it was a hit!

Every time we go we try to get James to go on the train that goes around the park. He never wants to go and we don't get it because he LOVES trains. Well he finally went and really liked it! Until we got to the dark part with the dinosaurs, which I didn't even remember, it had been so long since I was on it. He freaked out a bit while we went through that part. Who knows if he will go on that again!

Jake was such a good boy all day. He took his naps right when he was supposed to and just hung out in the stroller most of the time!

Hope you had a fun day Nonna! We did!

Almost There

Jake was 7 months yesterday and hasn't changed much from 6 months. The biggest difference is he is almost crawling. Yesterday he finally moved his arms! He has been doing this inch worm crawl and getting around just fine. I thought maybe that will be his crawl, but he has learned how to get his arms going! Here is a little video of him crawling around, the inch worm way with a little bit of arm action!

Other than that I think he has gotten more stubborn since he was 6 months. He is getting much more wise! He used to go to sleep all by himself and now he has decided that he doesn't want to go to bed and the last two nights has had to cry himself to sleep. Also for the last week he has been waking up in the night not only once but up to three times! I have been trying to let him "cry it out" but I can't take all the crying so I give in and pick him up. I know he is just getting what he wants but for some reason I just can't stand it. I wasn't like that with James, I don't know what it is this time around. He also still isn't eating his solid foods. Doesn't want anything to do with them, can you say STUBBORN?!?! Hopefully he will like regular food and I won't have a picky eater, I won't know what to do with a picky eater!!!

Jake's New Do!

Today I went to get the boys hair cuts and as most of you know Jake has some weird hair thing going on. If you look at him from one side he looks like he has a lot of hair. If you look at him from the other side it looks like he has a mohawk! He also has a lot of new hair coming in and it was really dark when he was born and now it is a lot lighter, and it is all stringy baby hair, so we decided to start fresh...he got a buzz cut!
Here he is with his new do!

First Day of School

Last Wednesday Brianna started her first day of school at Rosary High School. Wow I can't believe my little girl is in high school! I thought the first day of school would be more emotional for me but it wasn't. I think because she went to summer school there and played in the soccer program over the summer that we had been to Rosary SO many times already. Since she did those two things and most of the girls went there from her grammar school she knew a lot of people starting the first day. So it just felt like any other year. Thank goodness. I am sure it won't feel like that for long, when she is wanting to go to football games and hang out with new friends!
Here she is in Kindergarten and here she is now!

Wow time does fly!

Disneyland AGAIN!!

Ok I know I post a lot of pictures from Disneyland but we always have such a good time and always something new happens! We went last Tuesday which was one of the hottest days this summer. We were melting, but we had a great time. We went with Diane, Jessica, & Michael,(cousins from New Jersey). Jake stayed home with Nonni & Aunt Bridgie. Brianna came with us and Craig met us there after work.
James made some big steps in the rides he went on. He hardly ever wants to go on any rides. The first ride he wanted to go on was the ladybug ride. Now this was HUGE for him. He was tormented by his MUCH older cousins and sister with ladybugs and was scared of them for the LONGEST time. He is still scared of them just not terrified. I was so proud of him.

Next we went on the bumper cars, another ride I have been trying to get him on, he finally wanted to go! And he wanted to drive of course! He wasn't getting us anywhere so I had to take over.

James LOVES Handy Manny but when we saw him in person he wanted nothing to do with him. Here he is hiding behind Craig.

Michael, James, & Jess in the taxi.

James and I had chicken skewers while we waited for everyone else to go on the Indiana Jones ride.

I don't have any pictures but it was Craig's brilliant idea to take James on Pirates of the Caribbean. Need I say more...James hid his head under my armpit the whole ride saying he wanted to go home. Poor kid. As soon as we got off Craig and Michael took him on the Pooh Bear to make it up to him!
Then we went on Autotopia, it was James' first time and last time. No kidding, it won't be the last but it was the LONGEST wait and all the cars kept breaking down. We were spoiled that day the longest wait was Autotopia and it took about an hour from start to finish!
I wanted to stay for the fireworks because James has never seen them there but James fell asleep at about 8:30!

It was a good day!

Family Picnic

Last weekend we had our family picnic. This is my Maternal Grandma's side of the family. We were glad to have most of our relatives there, and even some first timers from back east! We had a great time as always!
We always have fun games and this year Craig and I won the eggs toss! Whoo hoo! We are always pretty good at that one for some reason! Here are two fabulous catches by both of us!

Getting ready for the balloon toss! We didn't get too far in this one!

Volleyball game

James looking for someone to play baseball with him!

James' new best friends...Vincent from Connecticut & Domiek also from Conn.

Brianna and Jake

James, Michael, & Domiek playing. They were crazy on this slide.

Aunt Bridgie, Jake, Nonni, & James watching the games

James chasing these geese! Made me a little nervous!

We had a great time and can't wait till the next one! I will post the big family picture as soon as someone sends me one!!!

Jake 6 Month Pictures

My friend Carrie took Jake's 6 month pictures. I loved all of them but here are a few of my favorite. The blanket was mine. I have my picture taken on this blanket when I was 6 months old! It was made by Jake's Great-Great- Aunt Mary.

The first picture is this new face he has been doing lately. It is so funny!

Thanks Carrie for the great photos once again!!
