Modest...I think Not

This post is one of those posts that we want to remember forever so I had to write it down.
After I pick James up from school a bunch of the kids like to run around this big grass area outside in front of the school. Today I had Jake and they were both running around with James' friend Brenden while I was talking to Brenden's Mom. I was mostly keeping my eye on Jake because he doesn't know his boundaries. I look to find James, he is about 100 yards away at the end of the grass area closest to the parking lot. All of a sudden I see him pulling down his pants! I yell at him, "James what are you doing!?" He then proceeds to pull down his underwear!!! I am thinking what in the world....all of a sudden he is peeing in the bushes!!!! I immediately run over to him, I hear other Mom's chuckling in the background. I am telling him to stop peeing and that is NOT ok, but of course he can't stop mid-stream! After he finally stopped I pulled up his pants and again told him that is not ok to do when there is a bathroom near by! I walk back to Brenden's Mom where she is dying laughing and says too bad you didn't have that on video!! I then could let out my laugh. I was actually glad that it happened there and not somewhere else! I wasn't completely mortified as all the Mom's can relate and know what it is like having a 3 or 4 year old!
I guess that's what we get for teaching him to pee outside in a bush! I guess there was some confusion though as to when it is ok to do that!
And we all know James' isn't very modest so I hope we never have this problem again! And just for another laugh...I know everyone remembers this picture!! ;)

Day 30 Challenge

A Photo of Myself Today and
3 Good Things that Happened in the Last 30 Days

First off I can't believe 30 days has gone by and this Challenge is over!!!
I don't have a picture...I didn't know I needed a picture of myself today and now I am in my jammies! No pictures now! Also you have seen all the recent ones of me going through this challenge, that's all I have!
The BEST news that happened in the last 30 days was that Craig found a job!!! That was the best news I have heard in the last 7 months! It was a stressful journey but I think brought us closer together as a family.
Secondly James turned another year older. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing! I say this ALL THE TIME but I can't believe how fast time is going by!
Third is this challenge. It enabled me to look inside myself and write about me. Something I don't do very often, or at all. I am glad I got to write down all these personal things about myself and have them to keep forever! I have learned to take MORE pictures if you can believe that and document more things! I am actually sad it is over and maybe one day I will come across another challenge! :)
If you read all the challenges thank you and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! ;)

Day 29 Challenge

Something I Look Forward To
I look forward to a vacation. For the past 3 years we have gone out to Palm Desert. We go the weekend after Father's day so it is the soonest to when school gets out. My Uncle has a house out there and they are kind enough to let us use it. We have gone with one of my Brother's and his family. My Mom and Tom have come out two years and the girls each bring a friend. My other niece came one year and another year my other nephew. It is nice to get away and it is a easy vacation when you have little ones. They have a pool right in their backyard so we mostly hang out in there all day.

They are also right on the golf course so the guys play golf in the morning and are done by lunchtime. Unless they play two rounds! James loves going out on the golf cart and hitting balls with Daddy.

I am looking forward to another trip this June! :)

Day 28 Challenge

I thought I did my challenge yesterday, but I guess I didn't! It was a busy day yesterday! So...
Why Do I Blog
I blog because I want to remember things. I love that I can go back to a day last year or even further and see what we were doing, or what important events were happening in our family. I started my blog in the end of 2008 and I was hesitant to start because I thought it would be so time consuming. It really isn't though and I wish I would have started sooner so I had more memories jotted down. Every year I print out my blog into a book. It is kinda like a little family year book. I am glad I will have those forever and when the kids get older they can look back and see what special or silly things they were doing.

Day 27 Challenge

My Dream House

Wow, this would be a dream even to make my own house. I would LOVE to do that one day. I love houses, I love looking at model homes for fun, I love decorating and I love just looking for homes for sale online!
So here is the gist of what I would want my house to be like. I like colonial/cape cod style homes. I would like a big front porch where I could have a porch swing and rocking chairs. Inside I would want each of the kids to have their own room with bathroom. I would like to have a little homework area in the hallway where there would be a long desk with places for computers. Our bedroom would have a big bathroom with a his and hers sinks, toilet, and closet. We could share the shower. My closet would be as big as a small bedroom. I want an upstairs laundry room, love that mine is upstairs now! It's the best! I also would like a guestroom, a gym, an office for Craig, a theater, a wine cellar with a tasting table in it, a playroom, a bonus room/game room where we could have a pool table, the xbox, and a foosball table and a shuffle board table. I would like a big dining room to fit my whole family at the table and a big cozy family room as well. I would like a chef's kitchen with all the fancy things. In the backyard I would like an outside living space with a fireplace and a TV. I would have a BBQ area with a bar to sit at. A garden area for our veggies. A tennis court. A gated pool and a big grassy area for the kids to have a swing set and room to run around and have a slip and slide! There would be a seperate grass area for the dog. We would live at the end of a culd-de-sac and we would have lots of nice, friendly neighbors with kids our kids age!

Day 26 Challenge

A Picture of Something That Makes Me Sad/Angry
I feel like I have talked enough about something that is sad so my friend changed this one to Something That makes You Excited...so I am too.
The Christmas Season

Christmas is my favorite holiday. One of my favorite things to do is to shop and I love shopping for other people. I love seeing their face when they open a gift that they love or they have been waiting for. I love going to get our tree. I love having a tree in the house and all the decorations. I makes the house so cozy and warm. I love having hot chocolate with the kids. I love going to look at Christmas lights. I love going to the boat parade. I love baking Christmas cookies. I love all the holiday parties. I love the excitement with the kids leading up to Christmas and then Christmas morning. I love seeing all our family and spending Christmas with everyone.

Day 25 Challenge

A List of My WHOLE Day
I was awoken by Jake this morning at 6:30! Yay, he slept all night. That is a rarity these days. We came downstairs I turned on Curious George for him, his favorite show and sat with him on the couch for about 5 minutes. Then James was up. I got both the boys cups of milk. Changed Jake's diaper. They watched George as I made coffee and made Brianna's lunch. 7:35 off to take Brianna to school. On my way home from dropping her off I stop at the store to pick up some milk so James can have cereal for breakfast before he goes to school because we just ran out. Go home. It's 8:15. Get James some cereal that he doesn't even eat, so going to the store was now pointless and could have waited till later! Get him ready for school all the meanwhile trying to get a card order placed that wasn't going through and it took me 3 times to do it on the computer, so I had to keep checking my computer to see if it went through. 8:50 James is off to school with Craig, who this morning was able to drop James off on his way to work! Yay me, saves me a trip! I sit down with my second cup of coffee, have breakfast and check my email. Make a couple phone calls to deal with stuff. Throw a load of laundry in and take a shower. Get Jake ready and we were off to the mall to exchange some birthday gifts, get James new shoes, and some new shorts. After the mall we ran over to Target where we got some Starbucks, a scone for us to split, milk for Jake and ice tea for me. Really quickly got some things we needed, hair clippers so I can cut Jake's hair, toothpaste, new bath towels, and some new pajama pants for me. My flannels are getting too hot and my other ones are getting too old. Just finished in time to get over to James' school to pick him up. 1:00. Jake fell asleep in the car. Put him in his bed for a nap. Get James comfy on the couch with a cup of milk and let him veg for a bit since he needs time to rest but doesn't take a nap anymore. Put another load of laundry in and run the dish washer. Sit in front of the computer trying to figure out if we are going to switch cell phone carriers. And have some lunch. Browse around on the computer a bit more. Jake wakes up, not a very long nap. I get him and give the kids a snack. Fold some laundry and add another load. 3:ooish Craig comes home and wants to cut Jake's hair with the clippers. Well that turns into me doing it and then giving Jake a bath. I thought it would be easier and faster to cut Jake's hair with clippers rather than scissors. It was but it still was difficult. And his hair came out much shorter than we thought! Back to folding laundry. Ran to the bank. Folding laundry again. 5:30 went out to sushi for dinner. We haven't had it in so long and we needed a quick meal tonight. I know it is St Patrick's Day but we had corn-beef and cabbage yesterday. We then went to pick up Brianna at Servite from her track meet that she doesn't want anyone to watch! On the way home we stopped for more sushi for her and frozen yogurt. Got home, Craig got boys ready for bed while I put away more laundry. Boys in bed 8:30. Put my new jammies on. I ran up and down stairs 3 times until I figured out what Jake wanted to take to bed with him. Writing this post and going to go have a glass of wine and watch TV. Hopefully I will be in bed by 10:30. Good-night!
