NO TRAINING WHEELS!

Two weekends ago I was outside hanging out with the boys while Craig was deep cleaning the garage. SInce Jake got this new balance bike Craig has been trying to talk James into riding his bike with no training wheel. Well James always wants to try Jake's bike but James is too big for it. James always freaks out when Craig talks about taking the training wheel off. Well this day we were talking about it, Craig took them off and then I helped James in the street holding the back of the seat. Then I just let go and when James noticed I was not holding on he was SO proud of himself!
I kept doing it with him teaching him how to start off pedaling without me holding on to the back of the seat and before we knew it he was doing it all by himself!
So proud of him! Our little boy is getting so big!

Catch Up

I am so behind on my blog I can't even believe it! We have been so busy and I have had no time to sit at the computer to catch up.
So here is going to be some of the things we have been up to!

RED & GOLD
This year Brianna was on the gold team and she was apart of gold drill. She was thrilled she got that part!
Here she is with my niece Andi.
And here a group of her friends

FIELD TRIP
James had a field trip to the Richard Nixon Library and I was lucky enough to go with him.
James with some of his class mates
Listening to the guide talk about Nixon and showing the kids Nixon's signature pose.
On our way in the presidential helicopter!

His class in front of the helicopter

It was a fun day but I think they were a little too young for this kind of field trip. It pretty much went over their heads! :) Oh well at least we went in a helicopter!

FIRST VACATION
Craig and I went on our first vacation without the kids. At the end of March we went to Arizona for the weekend to my girlfriend Sarah's wedding. We both have left the kids for one night before when we went to my girlfriend Shannon's wedding in San Diego but that was the only time both of us had been away from the boys at one time!
James was so excited to stay the weekend at Nonni's house. All week he was asking when it was time to pack! I was glad he was excited!
Dropping them off at Nonni's. Jake was crying about something but he was excited too!
We left Friday early morning and got there in time to catch a Angel spring training game at 1:00!
Neither of us had been to spring training and we were so glad we went to the game. It was so much fun! And we had front row seats right behind the Angel dugout and I had no idea I bought those tickets! So that was an added bonus!

After the game we called my Mom to see how the boys were doing and they were fine. My Mom asked if either one wanted to talk to us and they both said NO! I guess that is a good thing! Made it easier on us to not have to worry about them missing us! I guess they needed a vacation too! HA!
Laying out by the pool
I don't have any pictures of us at the wedding!
We had a great time though not having any responsibilities for a few days!

EASTER
The night before Easter we had Andi's Birthday dinner at my Mom's house. So all the kids colored eggs together.

The Easter Bunny visited our house!

 Ready to hunt for eggs...

 Found them all!

After church we didn't have any plans and so we thought it would be nice to go to breakfast but didn't think we would get in anywhere. Well we got into our little neighborhood restaurant Kimmi's that we love so much without any wait!
After breakfast we went up to hit golf balls.

Later in the afternoon we went to Aunt Rochelle's house.

Aunt Rochelle also spoiled them with goody bags!

We had such a nice Easter!

FIVE yr old!

And again...here I go about how I can not believe time is passing by so fast. Five years really?? I just don't believe it. How did my little 9lb. 9oz. baby turn into a five yr. old so fast? Well he is five now and weighing 48.2 lbs. and measuring 46 1/2 inches tall. He is in the 90% for weight and 95% for height. Craig and I are still shocked at how he is still so big. He must have gotten a recessive gene from both of us!
James' check up wasn't as nearly as easy as Jake's. I didn't tell James we were going to the Dr because I knew he would panic. But I also didn't want to just drive there and have him find out when we get there and freak out there. So I told him right before we left. He cried and cried and begged me not to take him. He told me he was healthy and didn't need to go. I finally talked him into going and if he was good we would get frozen yogurt after! He was fine by the time we got there. He did his eye exam and passed with flying colors. He had his ear exam and did great as well. He was cracking me up in the appointment.  He told the nurse that he wasn't going to get any blood tests today. The nurse was asking me how much he ate and what he like to eat. He told her his favorite food was sushi and spaghetti! He said he didn't like fruit at all. I hardly had to talk! I did fill in that he does eat vegetables, so she wouldn't think he doesn't eat healthy since he doesn't eat fruit! When the Doctor came in he was checking him out and James told him he wasn't going to get a blood test today. The Dr. was asking him what he liked to do for fun and he tells him, well for fun I like to go to Palm Springs! HA! So then he goes into telling him what he does in Palm Springs and how he LOVES it! Oh gosh, he was so funny! Then the Dr. asks him what he likes to do at home. Does he like to play video games...ut oh, does he like to play outside...does he like to go swimming. James says, We don't have a pool, we have a dirt track. The Dr. says, oh really wow! I am sure he is thinking we have this bmx track or something so I tell him, Oh it is just a little dirt area they play  in with their cars! So then the Dr asks him what else he likes to do, does he play sports?? He is trying to see if he gets any exercise! SO then James tells him he doesn't play sports, he plays golf. He is going to be a golfer when he gets big! The Dr. tells him maybe he can help him with his swing. So James gets down and shows him how it is done, a couple times! The Dr. tells him, oh good form! James is pretty proud and sits down! Oh gosh! This kid! He is quite the little talker! The Dr says he is doing great! The nurse came back in to give him one little finger prick, he wasn't due for any shots, thank goodness! James freaked out and squirmed so much that both the nurse and I were having trouble getting his finger! Finally she did it and he whined and whined. I was trying to distract him and talk to him, but he told me, I can't talk right now, I will talk when she is done! Awe! After the Dr. we went and got frozen yogurt! :)

On James' Birthday we were going to Disneyland so we celebrated with dinner and cake the night before.
He begged us to open his presents that night and we gave in! :)
He got two new Leapster games from Yaya and Jakey! HE was so happy!
And from Mommy and Daddy...
He got just what he asked for!
A Razor 360! With sparks!

He rode one at his cousin's house at Christmas and asked us for one for his Birthday. This one had an added feature he didn't know about. Sparks! You lift this lever and this metal rubs against the ground and it makes sparks! He LOVED that! Just like Lightening McQueen!
We went out right away to ride it! And he has been riding it every day since!
On his Birthday we headed over to Disneyland!
We did the normal favorite rides...Love that pic!
And the Rockets. We had Magic, the class pet with us!
And we did some newer rides, Small World...
A very new ride, the jelly fish ride
 James loved it!
And for the first time ever James went on his biggest ride! Soaring over California! It was his idea and he LOVED it! He is such a big boy!!!
His Birthday dessert!
Such a fun day! We are so proud of him for going on new rides!
Happy Birthday my big boy!
