Day 18

Today I did my first detox bath. With the boys being sick and Craig someone told me about taking a detox bath when they were sick and how it worked for them so well. So I had Craig do it yesterday. He felt so much better and completely believed it helped him. I thought I am going to do it, since I probably have all these germs in me and they are trying to manifest inside me. I need to get these toxins out so I don't get sick. So I tried it tonight. It was a pretty crazy experience. I really enjoyed it although I couldn't wait for the minutes to be up. I felt so relaxed afterward I felt like I just went to yoga or something. I will definitely do it again. Whether it will help with the germs we will see but it is nice to just feel like you are doing something good for your body and you are relaxed!

Day 17

Just when I get one kid back to school the other one comes down with it! Poor Jakey now has what James had. Ugh. At least I know what to expect. I am not looking forward to being home bound for the next couple days. Just when I thought I was back to normal routine.

CSF

This post deserved a post for itself!
Last week Brianna got notice that she was accepted to Cal State Fullerton!!! We were so thrilled. It was so exciting to hear. We are so proud of her and feel like school has paid off. I know she has to keep it up and finish the school year strong, but in a way I feel like it is over. Like she accomplished what she needed to do. A bittersweet moment. This process for applying to college has been so stressful for us parents. There is so much to do and there is SO much competition it is sad. Great students aren't getting into college. Only 45% of students applying get into CSF. She didn't apply to many places and we were all ok for her to heading to a junior college first. I wasn't too sure if I was ready for her to go away, so I was all for a junior college. But I guess as a parent you may never be ready. Needless to say it was early to hear acceptance and she hasn't heard from any of the others schools yet so I guess I shouldn't be so happy she is staying home, not just yet.

We just got the letter in the mail today!

Day 16

I was so happy when James woke up this morning without a fever! Phew. That was a long three and a half days. He still had a fever last night when he went to bed so I thought the right thing to do was to keep him home another day. Jake went to school so James and I had the day to ourselves. He went to run errands with me and we went to Chick-fil-let for lunch.

When we came home I got out this book I had bought for James probably when he was about two. I had the same book when I was little and I filled it out when I was about 5 years old. It is a Dr. Seuss book called All About Me. He really loved it. We sat and filled it out 32 pages for over an hour! It is so much fun! I need to go get one for Jake!

Day 15

Whoo-hoo! I am half way through my challenge! If I don't pat myself on the back!
First of all here is Jake's finished car from yesterday. It finally dried and he could decorate it! It came out so cute!
James was still sick today, so not much of going out of the house for me. Just ran to the store real quick and had plenty of time to make more cookies! I have made something like 10- 12 dozen cookies in the last two weeks! Both times Brianna's idea. It is seriously ruining my healthy eating habits. I was doing so good! The problem isn't the cookies but while I am making them I sit and eat the dough! I probably have 5 cookies in just dough! And they say eating raw cookie dough is bad for you. I haven't had the experience of that yet. Thank goodness she is taking all of them to school tomorrow!
I really hope James is better tomorrow. I am kinda having cabin fever. Although he will be staying home tomorrow again from school. :(

Day 14

Today James was sick again with a fever all day and I wanted to get Jake out of the house but he didn't want to do anything. So I decided they needed to do a craft. They were very excited about their craft.
 They painted pinewood derby cars.
 Jake was painting so carefully
And globed the whole jar of paint on his car!
Jake was done in about 2.5 seconds. So much for that being a craft to take up time!
James painted his car like Francesco from Cars.

 James painted so nicely

James' finished car!
We couldn't finish Jakes's car because it still wasn't dry!
They enjoyed themselves but next time I need to think of a longer lasting craft.

Day 13

Yesterday afternoon James came down with a fever. It was just a low grade 99.2 one. His spirits were good, I was glad it was just a little cold. Well today he has had a fever all day and the highest it got was 103.2.
It is so sad when they look so pathetic and don't feel well.
I hope he is better tomorrow.
